All About Me
Hello parents and educators! My name is Julie Morgan and I am the Instructional Facilitator for MicroSociety Elementary, a Jonesboro Public School Magnet Elementary. I have been at MicroSociety for 5 years, the first four years as a Mathematics Facilitator and one year as a Math and Lit Facilitator. The 2013-14 school year marks my tenth year in education! I began my teaching career at Turrell Elementary School as a 5-6 grade Math and Science Teacher and transitioned into a K-12 Instructional Facilitator position for the Turrell School District. I attended college at Williams Baptist College in Walnut Ridge, AR and received a Master's Degree from Walden University. I am currently pursuing a K-12 Counseling Degree from the University of Central Arkansas in Conway, AR.
I am defined as a Jack of All Trades, Master of None. My hobbies are quiet extensive. In addition to working in education, I enjoy making duck calls, refinishing furniture, creating burlap door hangers, painting, and many more. Lately, duck calls have taken over my hobby world! Music is a big part of my life. I lead worship at Temple Baptist Church. I have played acoustic and bass guitar all over the world, literally. I spend a month in India playing guitar with a group call Rough Places Smooth and local Indian Schools. I love music and art!
Family is very important to me. I do not consider family to only be a blood relationship. I was born in Texas and grew up in a little town just an hour away named McCrory, AR. I have three older brothers, the sweetest mom in America, and a step-dad that could have his own stand up comedy show. I loved growing up in a small town where hard work and morals were taught daily and where we all waved and spoke to everyone. I moved to Jonesboro in 2003 and quickly gained a family through my church. A very important family took me in as one of their own and coincidentally we shared the same last name. I have been hand in hand with the Morgan family for the past four years and my McCrory family also considers them family. I have an amazing life and love each and every person I consider friend and family.
