About MicroSociety Elementary: |
MicroSociety Elementary is located in the heart of downtown in Jonesboro, Arkansas. This school is a first through sixth grade elementary school with an average of 553 students. MicroSociety was originally known as West Elementary and has been a vital part of this growing community. In 2008, Jonesboro Public Schools participated in a Magnet School Program and modified elementaries into Magnet schools. West Elementary became a MicroSociety Magnet Elementary School in 2008 and continues to apply this Magnet Theme to date. .

MicroSociety Elementary School’s Guidance Curriculum Program

The MicroSociety Elementary School’s Counseling Program strives to provide quality lessons addressing the three domains of the American School Counselors Association Standards: Academic, Career and Personal/Social Development Domains. The following summaries are examples of the lessons provided to students through the guidance curriculum. Following the summaries, three complete lesson plans are included to show examples of in-depth guidance lessons.

The MicroSociety Elementary School Counseling Program knows the importance of working with students individually or in small groups on individualized skills. Responsive services are a vital part to any School Counseling Program. Responsive Services are based on immediate student needs and can include activities conducted in a small group or individual settings. Responding to crisis is also a part of the Responsive Services Program. MicroSociety Elementary School’s Counseling Program remains prepared for a variety of strategies to address immediate needs.
